DirectX clone for Linux

Can anyone tell me if there is going to be a DirectX clone for Linux? The DirectX clone for Mac OS 9 and beyond (MacDX) is now in development, but is someone doing this also for Linux?

I don't think there's such a project under development at the time for Linux. It would be great if there was though

You totally missed the point... SDL is a DirectX clone for Linux which is very cool!!!
OK now, some Wine users must try this:
Insert a Win32 game and make it work with SDL...
"Why?" you ask? Because this way we can get rid of all the people saying: "I love Windows so much, because my games don't work with Linsux. Why aren't you online on MSN yet?" including my little brother that's keeping me from throwing off Windows XP.
When this is done, where in a far better position to point a Windows alternative.

Who wait here! Stop with what your doing and start reading what I will write.
If we can convince the creators of modern games to can DirectX and start on SDL, then we can just insert a Win32 game on a Linux wine machine.
Also, if fuckMicrosoft.com could help set up an e-mail action to e-mail game creator like Epic Games, EA Games, 3DRealms, Sunstorm interactive, ID games and so on, to make their games compatible with SDL, (compatibility with Linux, more users buying your games, easy porting games to MacOS, more money for you) than this maybe could mean the end of Windows because then Windows users can easily transfer on to an Aunty Jo (term from X11) Linux system like Mandrake.
