GOT IT...NOW WHAT THE HELL DO WE DO WITH IT?
The last time that I had something as large as the server shipped to me (from Ohio to Nashville) it ran about 65 bucks UPS Ground.  When I mail ordered a monitor, that ran about 45.

Regretably, the HP II-P LaserJet printer finally gave up the ghost about three years ago.  It had been used daily in that office for about ten years running.  God only knows how many tens of thousands of sheets of paper went through that thing.  I still have an HP III-P (similar printer) that I use for printing standard correspondence and lables.  The ink cost is a fraction of what it takes to feed my Canon BJC-6000.  Of course, that III-P weighs about twice what a full tower PC weighs.

The Arnet network cards would not be much good without the motherboard that they are on.  They are what was referred to as "local-buss" cards.  local-buss slots looked like a full length EIDE slot with a PCI slot tagged on to the back end.

Any components that got shipped would have to be well packaged to keep the carrier from beating them all to hell.  That too would require resources and my boss having to pay someone for the time to do it.

The best option would be for someone to just bring a truck (pickup or van would do) and come get it all.

Oh yeah.....almost forgot this.

The workstation terminals and keyboards were made by WYSE and are specific to the system.  The CAT 5 RJ-45 network cable plugs into an RJ-45 to DB-25 (RS-232-C) adapter on the back of each monitor.  The keyboards plug into the side of the monitors using the same style connector as a telephone handset.

I will ask the boss tomorrow.  Do you live close enough to Nashville to justify a road trip to get it?

My boss said that he will take $68.25 for the entire system (yes, he said sixty eight dollars and twenty five cents).  I think that he is only interested in recouping the investment that he has in my time spent to see if it still worked.

That price means that someone would have to come and get it all.  We are presently so busy that nobody in the office has the several hours to spare that would be required to pack it for shipment.

So.....if you have $68.25 and a desire to come to Nashville to get this network and all of its remaining components, let me know and I will do a more complete inventory of exactly how many terminals and keyboards there are in addition to the old server.

Cheers and Beers.

"Guess what HomeBoy here found today?"

I found the upgrade ISA card that the distribution box plugs into.  That means that this network could be run on a later box than the old 486 server.

That really means more stuff and capability if somebody really wants it!

An Update..........

Boss says. "If you want it, here it is, come and get it."

Please let me know if you folks have found anyone who wants this network system just for coming and getting it.
