Journaling FS OS X?

I am really interested in anyone's opinions on the supposed Journaling filesystem supposedly coming with 10.2.2 or even 10.3?

I've heard it could seriously slow things doen in low-end systems, but hey, you can just turn it off.

I'll reserve judgment until I know more.
