I know its a Unix, but Im not getting Rhapsody, so it will still be the closest thing to a mac I will ever have.

If you could get your hands on Rhapsody, it's REEEEALLLY nice. Better hardware support than OPENSTEP 4.3. Mac OS 8.5 style UI.
OPENSTEP 4.3 is also very good. Also easier to come by.
Both OSes have been growing in popularity of late.

I've thought about chipping my 840av and running it at 80MHz, since apparently the 040 that's in there will do it.
