Hey, good to hear it.

I belive deleting that will clear out fink.

You could go digging in the Terminal, but me (being weend on GUI's  :D ) I do it thrugh OS 9 since it takes off all security on files as well as invisibility and other such things.

That way you can search out all the fink components with Sherlock etc.

But ya, I belive it's all contained in the sw folder. Don't delete the sw folder mind you, delete the fink stuff inside.

CommonSense:
I'm not 100% sure it's that simple, actually.  I remember that after I installed fink in the past, it broke Software Update.  I didn't know why at first, but I looked at the console log, and it was because it couldn't find gzip, which Software Update uses to decompress whatever it downloads.  The error messages in Software Update were totally unhelpful.

If it screwed *that* up, there's no telling what else was broken.  Luckily, I was upgrading my hard drive anyway, which meant a fresh, clean install of OS X and no need to worry about fink again.  I'm just not *that* interested in being "l33t"; the Developer Tools give me everything I need anyway.

that really sucks, but no, My Software Update still works, I got Fink before the new 10.1.4 and it still installed fine. But did fink create that /sw folder or was it there before?
