Hehe.. I finally like Fink :) Why use Linux?

Ok, so I got GNOME running seemless with OSX and now getting KDE to install also.

Now, explain why I need YDL  :D . I think I'm dumping it. I can now use all those apps. right in OSX without ever even leaving the Aqua environment.

Booting into Darwin directly, a quick call to startx and I'm off into, GNOME or KDE if I feel like it.

ahhh... i love UNIX!

psyjax:
Err... I take it back. KDE is dog slow! (less you run in pure Darwin mode, even then it's no where close to YDL)

MacUser3of5:
It's 'seamless' not 'seemless' Don't you use Omniweb?  ;)

I think the bigger question is, however, "Why use Linux, when you have OS X?"*

I've been thinking about getting that 'running linux under os x' thing, though... is that what you're talking about?

*just playin' my Linux peeps, you know I luv ya.

That's a good question, the answer I frequently come up with is: "because you can"

It's no replacement for OS X which is light years ahed in usability. But hey, that's just me. Linux is shitloads better than windoze will ever be.

dude, linux is just a kernel, it depends on what you stick on top of it. now my gnome2 config, is the nicest ui i haved ever used. even though there are some menu editing bumps, its awsome
