According to a CBS survey:

Despite the propaganda, Apple is recognised as more innovative than Microsoft.

Mildly off topic, but isn't it just sick that we think of companies as innovators?  And that the computer is the most innovative thing about the past 75 years?  Forget the space shuttle and nuclear power and Lego and rock'n'roll and the compact disc and microwaves and fusion and laser surgery.

I mean, if you have to give it to a company, it should be Apple.  But I think we need to stop thinking of things in terms of companies.  PostScript and windowing environments may have been made famous by Apple and Adobe marketing, but both were invented by geniuses at XeroxPARC that just wanted to do cool stuff.  Those are the people we should be rewarding!  I nominate Linus Torvalds, Ken Thompson, Dennis Ritchie and James Gosling as the most innovative people of the computer era.

Also, it's really sad that Microsoft came so close to Apple in that poll.  People who use Windows at the office usually think Apple is that company that made computers back in the old days.  Somehow, Bill Gates is a genius, and he has only co-written one piece of code in his life, for a computer that only exists in museums today (the Altair).

Society needs to quit sniffing glue.

Worker, you're wrong on one bit.  Society can keep sniffing glue, but as long as it does, it loses the right to vote in these kinds of polls.

Roger that.

It's hard for me.  I keep forgetting that stupid people have rights too.  Actually, they probably shouldn't, but I am certainly no fascist, and I would never impose legislation against glue sniffers.

I see I've neglected to rate you.  What a terrible oversight on my part, five stars for holding an intelligent *snicker* conversation with me.

EDIT: Back on track, huffers have rights too!   :D
