OS X the Developers choice???
« on: 16 February 2003, 21:25 »
Here's a thing, whilst trawling around the Apache Jakarta site I came across this little page:

Operating system of choice

There are four Apache developers that use OS X and one Red Hat that would like to and aheem... One lost soul using Winshit 2000. I know this is only a small representation, but..

OK I use OS X mostly to develop, I do the whole XML / Cocoon /Tomcat java type thingy, stuff that was very very hard to do in classic (although it could be done - badly). So traditionaly development was done on Linux's, Solaris or MicroCrap. Is this a new trend? I think it is. The beauty of the OS X system is that you have the strengths it was renowned for, graphics, media type stuff and now good and improving hardcore development platform.

Discuss.  ;)

I know I was certainly amazed at how easy it was to compile the software I use every day on Linux for OS X.
