I let a friend borrow my "old" G4. After one day he was sold. In fact, he also wiped windows off of his pc and put redhat8 on. So no more windows in that house. Very nice.

Thats also very good, i do believe that if more people could use a test machine for a mac or linux i think people would switch sooner.

I'm thinking about doing this, maybe dual boot with linux and mac and just take the machine around with me wowing people with it showing how superior the OS'es are.

I've never played around with Linux much, but my friend is a total UNIX guru who has Sun Solaris and Linux boxes galore. He uses a G4 as his main machine, however. When I went over last he had Debian Linux running, and I was really impressed.
He didn't sell me on switching from OS X to Linux yet, but I can see how almost anyone would switch to either from Windoze.

i dont think that i would switch from osX to linux. I'd switch from windows to any of the two, but for my main machine, osX can't be beat.

I would want to switch people away from windows but not from OSX to Linux or the other way round.
