I finally got myself a powerpc, i feel special
« on: 29 June 2003, 11:28 »
Hello

I havent posted on any of these forums for an extremely long time, probably a matter of months, so yeah, hi!

I aquired a PowerPC Macintosh off of one of my friends for my birthday.

This machine is a 6100/66av power macintosh and seems to be running pretty damn nice with 72 (or 74) megs of ram and some really cool video card that has tv out and in.
This mac has some very strange ethernet thing (AAUI i tihnk) but i will be investing in some little doowhacky that will allow me to connect it to my 10base-t ADSL internet.

I have only one question, how do i use the tv in/out, all i really need to know is what type of cable i need to look for.

Thanks a bunch!

i dont have a mac but i have a few vid cards with tv support.
is your connection rca, coax, or svideo?
if it is rca or coax just run a cable to the tv.
if its svideo you can run a cable to your tv if it supports svideo. if not just get a simple adapter and use rca.
hope it helps

Yes.

Well, that is unless you're confusing the MiniDin8 serial ports or ADB with S-Video...

I'm sure you haven't. But just for future reference in case this thread gets archived:

This is an s-video port:

This is Mini-Din 8 serial:

And this is ADB:

So we're all good now.

Remember: Subtle, but important differences in s-video v. adb
