Hey guys, I notice an incredible lack of cool OS X screens posted around here. I set up my iTools and took some cool screens so you all could enjoy them:

Hey, MacMan and the rest, let's see your stuff.

EDIT: OK IT's Ready!!! Have a look folks! Tell me what you think

yes, its about time someone put up some OSX screenshots. I finally get to see it! I really like OSX's desktop and look a lot better than any of the "classic" Mac desktops. Nice background

I think I would be right at home on it now with Darwin inside.  Hey Psyjax, I couldn't help but notice that AOL Instant Messenger was eating up a lot of CPU. What's up with that?

I'm tellin you, it's spyware! I'm goin to test my open ports and see what it's linkin to.

Anyway. Thank's Void!

I know, your a computer nut, and probably can afford a Mac. Come on Pal, give 'em a shot for me. Support Apple, use an OS, that supports Open Source. Get a Mac, and tell me what you think. Come on Void, you know you want it   ;)

Mac Guru:

Lookin' good   ;)

Tell me when it's done.

P.s. Might I suggest switching the special drag bar buttun and the resize drag bar button. Considering that the special one has the traditional "optimal size" buttin icon.

(i.e. the one on the right end of the drag bar and the 3rd one to the right on the left end of the drag bar, hope you know what i mean    )

You are correct. I would like to have a Mac to play with, I have a partner (who also happens to be an MCSE) that I have been migrating to the Linux world for the last year or two and he is really beginning to despise M$ about as much as I do.  He has a Mac and really likes OS X. The most I did was ssh into it and help him install some software.

It's on my list of things to get.  Problem is, for what I do I am not heavily dependent on graphics, in fact I'm happy as a bug in a rug without any Window manager running, but it does help having one for some things. The one thing I would *really* like it for is for my wife and kids, who aren't as happy as a bug in a rug without a Window manager/graphical environment.

It's excellent for kids and those new to high powerd OS's. Heck, new to computers in general.

The plus side is that it's easy to tinker with and learn the more powerfull command line part of the OS.

I would have never learned as much about UNIX and Linux as I have without OS X. OS X gets you interested in all the tech stuff but still maintains an incredible GUI.

I'd post my screenshots, but you likely do not nt to see a Mac OS 8.1 desktop occupied by ancient pop culture icons.

I'd post the one of my OS X machine, but it's pretty much just a standard workstation, Macintosh HD, the CD icon and a green background.

http://homepage.mac.com/sdsk8mafia/PhotoAlbum2.html

But for real what program did you use to get the dock slightly to the left??..i have tinker tool but it only lets me put it all the way to the left, witch annoys me cause a few of the icons go off screen when i have the magnification turned on...anyways tell me what you think, personally im stoked on my desktop..

edit: Umm never mind i must have been trippin, the dock isint to the left... Anyway is their anything that anyone knows of that lets you put the dock slightly to the left or right?...

I was wondering if anyone else using osx and mozilla 0.9.9 was also having problems veiwing the itools slide shows? With omniweb it seems to work fine but with mozilla it wont work...not to big of a deal but it is kinda annoying, also anyone with windoze or linux does the slideshows work in mozilla under either one of those?...

edit: They seem to work fine on the ones that load on the page but wont work with the pictures that pop up with that slideshow window...(ie: it works with the one psyjax posted but not on the one i posted.)

i am using MacOS9.1, and i cannot view your slideshow with either Opera 5 or Mozilla 1.0

With Opera, i just get the frame coming up, no picture, no words, just a white box with 2 arrows, and with mozilla i get the same thing except with the title: trc3's desktop.jpg or something at the bottom, and in mozilla the cursor goes mental, it doesn't know whether to be an arrow, a watch or a pointing hand. Still no slideshow though!

Yeah, Mozilla dosn't work with the slide show. I suggest mounting your iTools and throwing some quick "normal" html together. That's what I did, I HATE javafied webpages like that. Plus, the slide show thing compresses your image size.

I'll be revamping my site over the weekend! Stay tuned for some neto stuff. It's gonna be pretty designy  :D
