iTunes Library File Thingy

(1/1)

Pissed_Macman:
I was sitting there, minding my own business, playing Starcraft when suddenly it froze. I also had iTunes running at the time. After a few minutes of frantically pounding on keys and stuff, I pushed the restart button and it booted back up. However, when I tried to open iTunes again this thing popped up: "The iTines Music Library file cannot be read because it does not appear to be a valid library file." What the hell is this??!! Lack of AC/DC makes me grumpy! Could the cause be that I restarted while iTunes was running?

cocoamix:
The library probably got corrupted when it froze.
Go to ~/Music/iTunes and trash your library. (not your actual MP3's but the library and playlist .xml files).
Start iTunes, and re-import your MP3s. I have 2000 mp3s and this only takes about 30 seconds.

I don't think but to fix this the easy way just move tour itunes library and then open itunes and add the songs again. - if they are ripped they will be in the itune folder so just drag the folder onto itunes.

As for why it froze???? why your itunes library was currupted ????

You guys are life savers.

My computer has never gotten along with Starcraft for some reason. It's the only game of mine that has ever frozen, and it happens far less frequently nowadays, so I dunno.
