If you're running 9.2 and OS X, holding down the option key during startup will bring up a dialog box where you can choose 9 or X. This only works if 9 and X are on seperate partitions. I'm not sure if it would see a Linux partition. It definitely won't if Lunux is on the same partition os 9 or X.

You can get a bootloader like Yaboot. It will be a *NIX style text promp. It's usually used to boot Linux. But I had it on my comp. running only OS9 and OSX. It's a pain in the ass to install and to remove so I wouldent recomend it.

Yeah, Yaboot screwed up my partitions so I had to reformat. I don't recommend it.

Thanks holding down the option key works perfectly.

A quick question will FreeBSD work on my machine? maybe on a Mac OS X partition or a LINUX one?

You can format a partition to use the UNIX format straight off of the Mac OSX install disk using Disk Utillity.

As far as Linux, most Mac Linux distros come with a utility to create an Ext2 partition.

Make sure you back up your stuff tho, partitioning wil destroy data and in some cases crash your hard drive. So proceed at your own risk.
