OS X needs a Platnium appearance built right in.

And if you want to make it look better, learn how to program in C or make a pretty darn good theme with the GIMP.

Every aqua copy I have seen are total crap, they lack all of the refinements of true Aqua.

I personally dont waste my time trying to copy aqua. I'd much rather have KDE 3 with a metallic theme.

gnome and kde kick ass. they are as good as anything macosx has. some osx features kick more ass, some gnome features kick more ass, some kde features kick more ass. this is like 'what's the best distro', but at the end of the day linux is the most customisable, and so you can change its looks more than any other OS if you want to do so.

Each and every one of those desktops environments (KDE, GNOME, Aqua) is beautiful in its own way. Personally, I like the eye-candiness and functionality of Aqua more than KDE or GNOME but then again it's all a matter of taste and very subjective if you ask me.

Im beginning to fall in love with the alternative light weight window managers, especially Fluxbox. I know it isnt as pretty as KDE, or gnome, but it runs quite fast on my 100mhz computer which is a lot more than I can say for either of the other two.
