I think he brings up some valid counter-arguments.

What counter-argument? I'd prefer to use a mac even if it was slower than a wintel toaster.

Mac heads are so defensive, can't he just admit that Macs aren't as fast as x86-based PCs instead of insulting Adobe and making lame excuses about their software?  Not that Adobe is such a great company, but it looks pretty stupid.

Like speed is the be-all end-all of computing anyway.  I have a gamecube which isn't as fast as an xbox but xbox still sucks!

Some are defensive.  I know PC's are faster. But that doesn't matter, the mac is better.  the OS is just amazing compared to windows and linux.

my mac has given me no problems ever. i have never had to open the case and fiddle with anything. i dont have to do anything to it. "it just works" and well. my windows box, and my linux box give me headaches. linux not so much, but i still get them... i couldn't care that intels are faster. thats cool and all, but i can do way more (meaning, get more done in the least amount of time) on my mac.

I dunno, generaly I agree with him. He brings up a good issue, software now adays is more lazily written. Manuffacturers seem to expect the hardware to take up the slack. Just look at the bench mark he shows between final cut and After Effects. Same stuff, big speed diffrence.

I like Adobe, but why are they being such punks? They simply make the best draw program there is, and if 99% of graphic artists use Macs, then why is it such a big debate?? Why can't we all just get along?

So many companies involved in film, computer games, web design, and so on use Photoshop and other Adobe tools.  They spend millions each year on the software.  I wish they would pour that money into free software projects like gimp and film gimp, that way the software can benefit everyone and you can be sure it's optimized for your particular system and hardware since you have the source code.

The game cube has a 400mhz 128bit processer with a RISC arcitechture.

The XBOX has a 733mhz peice of 32bit shit.

The gamecube's cpu is about twice as fast, probably faster.

Seeing as the XBox has the capability of outputting more polygons with more of everything on them would suggest otherwise.  I have an XBox, I love it, the games are great.  My friend has a gamecube.  I don't like it much, there aren't very many fun games for it.  My XBox has slightly better Graphics and higher frame rates than my friends GC.  However, no my Box, I do get reminded it is made by MS.  So far it has jammed on me 2 times.  In 2 years that is not a lot for MS, but for a console that is like a world record.

from my experience, the game cube destroys the xbox. my cube doesnt fuck up, the discs are way smaller, and hold the same amount of info, the controller is the finest peice of work i have seen in a while. on & on. my sisters xbox quit working, and a co-workers, and my freinds. another freinds xbox, totally destroyed his games & dvds. put a brand new game in, took it out, and it was scratched all to hell. and dont even think of playing a dvd in it. my game cube is still chugging away. flawlessly. as for games, i have always been a fan of nintendos style. they make console games. i like consoles. if i wanted to play computer games, id boot up my win2k box. the game cube came out at $300, the xbox was planned to be sold at $600!!. WTF!! for of the shelf components and a scaled down 2k kernel. sorry, thats a crock. my cube is 1/4 the size of the xbox, and just as good, if not better. plus. its microsoft. seriousely. at a site like fuckmicrosoft, i wouldnt expect anyone to own an xbox.
Mes Member1- "Fuck M$"
Mes Member2- "Yeah, shoddy software, monopoly, etc..."
Mes Member1- "I hate M$"
Mes Member2- "Yep..."
Mes Member1- "xbox is cool"
Mes Member2- "What!!??"
Come on. i was playing mk5 at a freinds house on his xbox. the particle effects looked like shit, and it stuttered a few times. On my cube, mk5 works flawlessly. how can it be better when the piddly little game cube rendered better than the almighty xbox?? fuckaXbox, fuckaMS, fuck you for supporting them. why does it always come back to the "my dick is bigger than yours" argument anyways. like this whole mac vs wintel bullshit. oh no, your pc rendered that image 3.2 seconds faster than my mac. i guess a 3ghzp4 is faster than a 1.25g4. that means its better. i guess i should drop the most stable computer i have ever used for a POS wintel box with XPpro service pack1. i have been using windows for graphic design, and pretty everything elses for like 2 years. when i first borrowed my ferinds 800mhzG4, i was in fucking awe. i have never awed over a pc.
i guess mac heads are defensive. maybe one day i will be able to knock some sense into someone, and they will see that for the desktop, nothing beats a mac. i will even bring up linux. i like RedHat 8. its fun, but it is not easy. it might be easy for someone who has used it for a few years, but i find it cumbersome, and confusing. i will continue to learn it, and i do enjoy doing that. i know that one day it will be the dominant os on the desktop, but not yet.. for now i will use jaguar, and soon to be panther for my daily computing needs & work.
(wow. i dont think i even talked about anything in this post)

The Wind Waker > all
 :D

I dont see how you can have more polys than that game. I cant see ANY edges on the characters. Its so fluid, and it runs at a steady FPS. On Halo, sure the graphics are nice but when a enormous battle occurs, the FPS drops. Also xBox = evil M$ creation and thats never good.

All this stuff with Adobe gives apple more excuses to make more pro programs like Final Cut    which is good because final cut kicks ass

I heard Apple is making a program that's supposed to beat the pants off Powerpoint. Anyone know anything about that?
