Port 427
(1/1)
billy_gates:
On the OSX firewall it says next to WebSharing port 80 and port 427, what does port 427 have to do with anything let alone http?
Master of Reality:
i believe its an SSL port.
billy_gates:
ssl is that security thing right? it is for buying things online?
choasforages:
yes it is for secure connection over the internet
voidmain:
427 is not https (SSL), that's 443:
--- Code: ---
--- End code ---
It appears to be a Novell port:

I don't know why you would have it open. Just because it is a Novell port doesn't mean other apps can't use that port so maybe there is another explanation.
