firstly, macs are not based on unix, the truth is that the
software supplied with a macintosh is based on Darwin. This is an open source operating system based on a version of the Berkeley System Distribution (of 'Unix', although by the time BSD came out it was legally required to contain NO Unix code, so technically it is not Unix).

I have a "real" computer, and now i want a laptop, so get over it. in fact i'm not even going to read further than your first sentence, given its awful track record.
