from LinuxUser & Developer Issue 27, February 2003:

quote:
In the first two weeks, more than 1 million copies of Safari were downloaded from Apple's website. Linux users already knew that Konqueror was a fast browser - while Safari is claimed to run three times faster than Internet Explorer on the Mac, with Javascript running over twice as fast. However, if Apple CEO Steve Jobs ever saw Konqueror, he seemed to have forgotten about it. He claimed "We are bringing innovation back into this category with the first all new browser created in many years."

it's all very touchy feely them using GPL stuff and all that but in the 'linux vs mac' war (which will happen sometime next year i predict) it seems that apple are going to be the first to draw the lines. why are they doing this when they can see microsoft is going to go down as a result of doing the exact same thing?
