Wireless Question

Does anyone have a non-Airport wireless card in a Mac (Laptop)? If you put in a non-Airport wireless card, will it recgonize it just like it would to an Airport card?

I'm pretty sure most 802.11b cards will work, unfortunately I couldnt find anything on the apple site for you.  Have you checked the site of the manufacturer?

I just wanted an "in general" answer, and I got it in the magazine "MacWorld". Yes, most wireless cards are recognized as regular Airport if you have drivers.

I haven't been able to find any information about the Orinoco cards that are supposedly best for wardriving and such.  ;)  I figure I might as well buy one of those when I need a wireless card. Do those babies get picked up by Airport routers?

Yes, like 99% of the cards on the market will work with the airport.  You can also use them with a non-apple computer.
