iTunes sound

I've noticed a few times that when I'm listening to really loud music the sound will suddenly drop down. Is there some kind of volume programming in iTunes that does this and if so how do I turn it off?

I can't really help you there but it might be for the best.  I know a lot of people who are almost deaf from listening to music too loud or having shotguns blowup... all that fun stuff...  probably helps the battery.  My friend Keith has one, I will try to remember to ask him on Monday about that.

Feh, deafness is no longer a problem these days. Now we can just turn the volume up more until we can hear it.

I have read about this before and is nothing new. It has been higly discussed since at least the introduction of iTunes 4, maybe even 3.

Try looking through some of the forums at macrumors.com and also mann.com as they have broken this down quite a bit.

If I have time, I will provide you woth some links.

yeah. it's fairly common. I 've experienced it, as well. it doesn't seem like compensation, though, as the volume drops occur in softer places, then the volume comes back over the next few seconds... it's wierd
Go the fuck ~

When I first port a track that I've "obtained" into iTunes I delete the album name so they all match in my file. As soon as I delete it and then click to unselect it that's when the sound drops! What the fuck!
