Yes they do.
But why does that make a troll.

This is very simple.

1st of all , okay maybe the PowerMac G5 is expensive . But what is a G5 ?

Seems it's Apple's Itanium , What about the costs of a Itanium with WindozeXP64 (jaks)
Apple is selling G5 iMacs too it's user's now , for what you get they even don't cost too much . So Mac home user's are getting their Itaniums now ( okay some Mac .. )
Where are the Itanium home Users , wait till 2006 to find them cause you wont find to many now .

2nd , What is Mac OS X Server 1.x ( aka Rhapsody )

Apple wanted to port OpenStep ( NeXT ) to the Mac & also PC mainly because using Yellowbox made it easy to port your code both to PowerPC & x86 ( & any other platform too ) . But there where 2 major problems , all older Mac applications had to be completely rewritten ( this was not what Mac developers wanted at that time & it would make Mac OS X applications be released too late because of the process of rewriting them ) , also Micro$luts owns a pretty big amount of Apple , they saw OS X x86 as an attack on Windoze ( and you all know what Micro$luts do to his opponents ) . So Yellowbox became Cocoa ( with less platform portibility & more old Mac Os compatibility . That compatibility was provided trough Carbon & Carbon also provided the Classic environement which was a far better aproach then the MasOS.app aproach ( MacOS.app made run Mac OS full screen on it's own in front of Mac Os X , Classic makes it run as a part of OS X ) All this was done somewhere between the OS X Developers Previews ( DP 1 was a non server Rhapsody , DP 4 introdused Aqua , the new gui , i can't tell where carbon & classic apeared , DP 4 had all of it though while DP 1 had none )

Personally i had rather seen the original Mac gui survided , maybe with Aqua as prefered second gui in a form of Desktop theme's . But that's my personal opinion & i must also admitt that i'm comfortaly using Aqua right now .

I'dd still like to get me a copy of Mac Os X Server 1.2 for my older Mac though ( & the DP's too as i don't really need the Server OS ) . This older Mac is also capable of running the latest OS X ( Panther ) thanx to XPostFacto & with a G3 300 it runs Panther comfortly .

I hope my message was explaining the open questions in this thread .

Welcome to the boards, maccampus!

Just want to clarify one thing, though: no part of Apple has ever been owned by Microsoft. What you are referring to is the purchase of 150,000 shares of non-voting stock, which would even then still have been a small percentage of Apple's ownership.

I agree.  I wish they did it sorta like winxp, where you can switch back to the old mac os look.  OS 10.3 is a little too much for my old imac G3 400 to handle. (lets admit it, osx, winxp, and kde3.x are ALL bloated)

You can: http://www.maxthemes.com/themes/?theme=Classic%20Platinum

Don't know if that'll improve speed much, though.

Mac's may seem expensive, but they are worth every cent, and what about the new Mac Mini, they are very affordable, starting at just US$499.

Just think, once you have a Mac, you will never have to pay for security software, it is available, but you don't need it. A Macs security will never compare to the swiss cheese that is windows.

Go ahead and sell your PC to buy a mac, trust me, you will not regret it one bit.

Plus there's the added bonus of how attractive a mac will look in your home office!!!!

Mac OSX is the most advanced operating system in the world, and if you have the hardware to go with it, you will never go back to your Linux SHIT.

So until YOU can make an OS more powerful and more advanced than Mac OSX, keep your mouth shut.

You're being divisive by comparing Berkeley UNIX to Linux.  Do your homework, note the similarities between the FreeBSD kernel and the Linux kernel, then get back to bashing Windows.  Thank you for your time.

EDIT: In case you somehow missed this, Darwin - that would be the core of OS X - borrows heavily from BOTH FreeBSD and Linux kernel.  Bashing either of the latter based on your experience with the former is just plain ignorant.
