to get online i think you will have to upgrade to system 7.5.3 or 7.6.3 or whatever,  from apple.com, it's a free download.  however, it's pretty much a waste of time, the powerbook would probably be best used as a portable typewriter, with files swapped via floppy or serial.  for old 68k software, try lowendmac.com .. or, hell, just don't use it.  it's too much work anyway.
