Yea, i have the automatic phone home thing turned off (done in a simple dialog box that never harases you to use that portion of the software I may add, unlike some other OS's).
So Zombie4464684652181 was quite usefull in letting me know about the update. It fixed a small bug I was having burning CD's in iTunes, so kudos!

Yeah, but OS X doesn't "phone home," per se. It really just checks the server to see if anything new is out. I've never read anything uncovering privacy violations or information being sent back to Apple in these software updates -- and I read EVERYTHING in the Mac press, believe me.
I got 10.1.4 probably within minutes of it going online. I don't see any significant differences, but then again, that's why it's only a .0.1 incrementation. It's 10.2 that'll be interesting.

Also, there's a security patch for our old friend IE to keep it from unsecuring an X box after it's been killed.

If they release it for PC many people would be happpppy. But i might get Solaris.
