Since all of their new comps have audio and mic ins. The only thing that Mac Sounds Cards lack in terms of features is surround sound... except for the new G5's which support any type of surround sound as long as it can be transferred over Optical Cables.
In Terms of sound quality.. the mac sound cards blow the SB Live out of the water. They really insulated them well compared to the open aired SB Live cards. this greatly reduces interferance and random noise like hard drive click and shit which I hear on my PC, but not on my Mac. Also, that general Hissing sound is there on my PC but not my Mac.
I am however thinking of getting an iMic for my PowerMac though, I have heard they offer even better sound quality. But what I need is the Mic in and Line in Offered on those things that my PowerMac did not come with... damn apple for taking those out... good thing they put them back in.
