fink!
raptor:
how do you forum goers like the new open source linux project for the MAC OS X?
The fink project will enable you 2 run linux apps right on your MAC OS X desktop.

Recompiling & using X11 isn't bad at all...I really don't see why Fink is necessary. It probably just lets people skip the recompiling step.

Huh?
I didn't have to compile, recompile anything.
I just downloaded Apple X11, and use fink thrugh the command line.
It's cool, more for bragging rights tho. I have yet to find a linux app. I can actually use for anything.

The Mac platform has everything I need too...I don't see the need to run Linux apps. Some corporate users might find it nice if the company uses in-house software.

I like fink too, but I too have yet to find an app that my mac can't do. My fav linux app is MPlayer, but that has been converted fully to the mac, no need to run it in X11, it runs in Aqua.
