I don't know about a soul but they do have personality and I've grown quite attached to them. Even my old LC 1 (68020 @ 16MHz) is still getting used.

My Macs are an intergral part of my existence. Mine are personalized in every conceivable way.
My Wintel machine is a cold box of ugly circuits that I only see as a dead machine I do my day job on.
That's just how I feel. Your mileage will vary.

Now I'm a pretty big computer geek and all that, but if I started naming my computers (or consoles ... or whatever) I think I'd contemplate committing suicide  :rolleyes:

The university where I was studying a few years ago named their Macs after well known employees at the university.

My main computer is simply called "Carl

I think its the opposite, I think Macs have no souls, that is why they always work.  Then Windows machines do have souls, usually evil ones, that is why they don't work ever.

But Hell, I would like to think that my iBook and PowerMac have souls
