I don't believe it. That image could easily have been forged then put at a low quality jpg setting to make it look authentic.

Although I agree it could have still been faked, and don't personally want to get my hopes up until Monday

No dude its real I think, why, I saw it when it was hosted on the Apple store, then Apple legal made Macrumors take down its copy of the photo. The stats look real also

Take a gander:

The image was up for 25 minutes, then the store was taken down for another 20. I'm starting to wonder if Apple will ask for something done to this page, since they're trying to stop it from spreading.

Some people (ie Slashdot) think that Apple may actually have leaked that info on purpose to build hype for the event. Wouldn't surprise me; rumour sites are a good source of publicity. In that case, they may have an even bigger surprise for the conference.

Can't wait... this might be my cue to switch. I am planning to buy a laptop for Uni next summer, maybe I might even buy a desktop before that, if I can afford it.

My brother was about to order an iBook for school, good thing he decided to wait until the end of summer. It might be bad to get a new computer, and miss Apple re-revolutionize the Macintosh.

i have read that as well. seems like its working since every news site is reporting the "slip" and hyping the new hardware.

i am just trying to imagine a dual 2ghz ppc970 with like 2 gigs of ram running panther.......[/drool]

That's gotta be a first. I heard the Apple site has never been down because its hosted on an OS X server. Something else must have gone wrong.

Make that 8 gigabytes of ram.
