Dual 1.42 Ghz is top of the line.
Low end is a single 1 Ghz.
$200 price drops on all of them.
Apple Studio Displays have been price slashed!
A Cinema Display is now $1999, down from $3499.
There's a new 20" Sudio LCD.

Very, very nice. At this rate, it should be really cheap next month.

wish they'd get a new frickin' processor instead of the tired, half ass G4. When that thing came out, they acted like it was the harbinger of a new age of computing. All it did was drag them down because it sucks.

They don't need to update them, just drop the price. Then I'd buy a couple.

Maybe that as well but i wouldn't mind a G4 ibook, i don't car about firewire 800, that would be a bonus, i wouldn't mind some faster RAM using DDR.

Then again i should get the 12"PB but i don't like its limitations like the lack of cache.  But i might change my mind depending on what the ibooks get upgraded to.

You people really can't bitch about clock speed anymore. 1.42x2 = 2.84 GHz. That puts the aggregate clock speed above that of AMD!

If IBM's 970 has the same processing efficiency, and higher clock speeds, then switching to that end may be a good idea.

Jimmy James seems to be bitching about clock speed, and the G4 in general.

yeah but he seems to be saying G3s are better, so i doubt that clock speed is the real issue.

fuck Motorola!!!!!! IBM is the biggest hardware manufacturer in the world, they must have done something right. RIght?  I'm tired of Motorola holding back Apple.  Hell, probably the only reason that G4's are gaining speed now is because motoral and apple and IBM are working together to make them faster.  G3's all the way, BTW Jimmy, what are the G3's clock speed now, according to IBM?
