How does one go about putting KDE on OSX

First of all, get a knife and chop off all your fingers, then put them in an envelope and mail them to your aunt. That pretty much sums it up.

When I did this on OS X 10.1, I used XonX, although there may in fact be revisions made to OS X in 10.2 (try the X Windows client for OSX 10.2).

And then you just compile and launch KDE. Simple.

easy peasy.

You download fink from fink.sourceforge.net  You install it... then you copy the Fink Commander app from the fink file u just downloaded.

You open fink commander (sometimes you have to first run sudo apt-get update in the terminal) then if your in jag you have to install rootless xfree86 from fink (panther already has xfree86 and x11).  This will install an app called XDarwin.  Then u have to install kdebase3.

You may have to edit the .xinitrc file in your home folder with this line to run kde.... but u may not:
exec startkde

there ya go... now u can run kde as a fully seperate window manager or as rootless where just its window decorations show on the linux apps ur using.
