I was watching Tech TV's Mac Mania Screen Savers episode and they told how to change your swap file. I know how to do that already, howevery I do have a question about partitions. On The Screen Savers they claimed that the fastest partition is the first partition on the drive. This would lead me to believe that the first partition is on the outside of the drive where the hard drive platter spins faster. I wanted to know is the first partition is created on the inside of the platter (near the center) or the outside of the platter (near the edge)?
A quick response would be helpful, I just got a new 60 gig hard drive and want to partition it so that my swap file will be on the outside of the platter.
