What if....their next version of Windows...actually mucked around on the hard drive and removed or fscked up all ext2 parttions, and passed it off as one of their new icons for My Computer being incompatable with linux...oh god...OUT EVIL THOUGHT!!!

Dear god I can just imagine the carnage now...is it possible?

EDIT: I now realize that I have had too little sleep and am soley responsible for this uninspired bit of 'end of the world' scenerio.  I realize that the DoJ would breathe down M$'s neck...however, who knows...

so that when microsoft steals something on the net or a game or something and we have to boot into windows just to fucking see it and we need to access something out of our linux partition ... and we cant because windows is fucking retarded

Exactly.  It would be so easy (though the DoJ would probably bust them on this one) for Microsoft to screw up any ext2/3 drives on a system and claim it as an incompatability.

Why would it want to?  To keep the newbies from 'trying out' Linux on a dual-booting system and discouraging them early.

So far, all windows up to xp do not have this built in, and xp is fucking pish anyway, so anybody with any brains who wants to dual boot will use an older copy of windows with no xp, no palladium and no ext2/3 incompatibility. If it were to ever happen that is...
