The cracking will probably be as depictive of real cracking as mission impossible is of espionage.  ;)

Yeah, Uplink rules.
I played it half a year ago (got it from my brother) - the game is cool indeed. The only bad thing is Uplink is absolutely (what's the word?) lineal.

True.    I wish I had a Password Cracker and a Trace Tracker programs like in Uplink    And if you could see the process of password cracking...  

But the missions are pretty good  
It's hard to collect knocked-out teeth with broken arms

I suck at it. But I'm getting better (now I gotta see how long I can play it without paying like with Ambrosia's other games)

That's what I always do, I think that  the only limitations are that you can't get a bunch of the better gateways and you can't use the stock market.
