Ok, well perhaps I have been viewing this 2% too frequently?

Just make sure you always let the webmasters know that their site sucks if they force you to use IE to use their site. I always do.

Could be.   :D  Whenever I bump on any of those sites I use the preference toolbar in Mozilla (like ExEleven), to identify itself as IE. And guess what? They all work! However, like void main wrote, this way we just add more IE hits to their stats eventhough we don't use it.   :(

I set it to identify as IE and enabled java and it worked fine.

Well, the Mozilla I have installed doesn't offer me the option to identify as another browser( I have 1.0, I haven't bothered with updating to a newer build since I like IE ;P).

Maybe the Mozilla team realized that they needed to have an IE identification option.

I think you only have that option in linux, I dont have it on my mac and dont remember having it in windows.  But omniweb does have it, and java never seems to work unless I have it set to IE.

My Mozilla 1.1 on Linux doesn't have the option in the menus anywhere that I can find. I am sure I could change it in a config file, or worst case scenerio I have the source and could change it there (I love open source). But the others were saying you had to download some sort of panel to get the option on a menu.

yes you must install the bar. All you do is go to the website and click "install" and it will isntall it for you (if you have the permissions).

Actually, you can also do it manually in your prefs.js file:

Code: [Select]
