his foundation is a marketing scam to gain publicity. he is "helping" my school (who purchased $80,000 of software from him) by giving us $1 million. but, we have to change the way our school operates. instead of 1 high school, it's 6 acadamies. it restricts the classes you can take, that's it. and of course we have to remodel our school. so after the remodeling, and construction, and switching to acadamies, and buying his software... we are back to square 1. Not really a help.

I'd like to see 1 problem that he has solved.

what is a baster? (or did you mean bastard?)

I wonder if he himself even uses windows (regularly), either way wouldn't surprise me.

academies. It is a Bill Gates thing, the technology academy will be cool. One of the issues that has been addressed is that once in the academy hard to change back out.

very strange that i never actually said "academic". i said acadamies, which splits our school up into 6 seperate mini schools. and it's not all so easy to get into classes in any of the other ones. which was my point, microsoft has over stepped their software boundries and now stepped into my education, which pisses me off.

I recall reading a story about some west african country (I wish I could remember which) that MS offered to "help out" with internet connections for their schools.

On its face it looked like a good deal, but it involved spending lots of money on MS software and a long-term contract with MSN.

Once they figured out that it would actually cost them more, they told MS to fuck off. All over the world, IT managers are discovering the same thing. Making a deal with MS is like making a deal with the devil. Tempting, but it'll cost you in the long run.

Gates talks

In his office on the Microsoft corporate campus in Redmond, Wash., Bill Gates took a few moments to reflect on the impact of the IBM PC. Here's the complete interview:
quote:
Q. Did you ever say, as has been widely circulated on the Internet, "640K [of RAM] ought to be enough for anybody?"
No! That makes me so mad I can't believe it! Do you realize the pain the industry went through while the IBM PC was limited to 640K? The machine was going to be 512K at one point, and we kept pushing it up. I never said that statement

Microsoft & MacDonalds both are screwing with kids lives whilst pretending to be 'good for you' in much the same way and with the same results.... They get rich and the kids suffer... A pox on them both!

The difference is, kids aren't forced into eating food from McDonalds and there are too many better alternatives to choose from (and those better alternatives would not include Burger King, Taco Bell, or Hardees). If a person is at work and takes a lunch break, no one says "hey, we require you to eat at McDonalds if you work for us".
