I feel extremely crippled when using windows, ans when Im on a mac Im overstimulated by the eye candy. On linux everything is just right.

yeah but that's not what this topic is about. it's about why am i still here at fuckmicrosoft.com when i don't care about microsoft?

i think the argument is not 'fuck this, i;m going to use windows' but more like 'fuck this, i'm too old to have principles, i'll just do what i like and pretend that anybody with strong opinions is being childish'.

In a way, you're right.  Some people are childish in regards to the debate.  Saying Windows sucks because it's Microsoft, and they are the enemy may work in grade school, but from a business perspective, we need educated individuals to fight the fight.  Viewing forums such as this one can be used for fire power when you have to discuss new technology with your companies CIO and ultimetly the CFO.

in a way this is the same type of thread that led us to start the OpenOpen thing.

instead of bickering about microsoft, we decided we would start to slowly mobilise and try and give open source software a bit of a foot up.

i too am sick of the bickering but i do not believe that a negative response is as good as a positive one.
