THAT FAGGOT

Please, no offense meant to anyone on the boards that may be homosexual. "Faggot" is meant as an insult toward Bush, meaning "irresponsible, inept, worthless, turdburgling shiteater"... and not a derogatory slang term for those of alternate sexual preference. You can be gay without being a faggot, and you can be a faggot without being gay.

BUT YOU CAN'T BE GEORGE BUSH WITHOUT BEING A GODDAMNED WORTHLESS FAGGOT
Go the fuck ~

I think we are about to find out just how much the states are governed by money

There are people out there who count on over time to pay for bills, food, and clothes!

Yeah giving people an adequate reward for larger amounts of work is a pretty basic right, not to mention one of the foundations of the capitalist system.

Of course like Stryker said you vote for who you get.  Don't like the Bush administrations policies?  Then vote them out at the polls.  Like them?  Then vote them back in, it's that simple (I'll ignore claims of vote rigging for this argument...)  In the end you get what you vote for, and if your apathy means you just make an "easy decision" at the polls then tough shit, you get what you deserve.

If you wan't to bitch about this and you are of voting age then I hope to God you actually vote.  As Triple J (Australian radio station) puts it "either vote or shut up for the next four years."  If you're not of voting age then try raising your beliefs in school.  At least make sure people know that there are alternative positions to be held and why you hold them.  (It would achieve a lot more than bitching on forums.)

nobody that is put into office i would agree with 100% on every view they have. I would (if I was old enough) vote for bush because i agree with most of his ideas. Not this though. A decision of this magnitude should not just be decided by a small group of people, it should be taken for the citizens to decide. Especially considering it doesn't really affect the people that are making the decision.

Isn't it representative governmment, important or not, the people you voted for are the people who voted to decide these things, like faust said

WHOA!  You're not old enough to vote?  I had views of you as some 40 year old battle weary uber developer who had "seen it all."   :D

Yeah being in office doesn't give you a "mandate."  Important decisions should still be subject to public approval, because no president is the ruler of a country - the people are the ones who should be bossing around the president not the other way around.  Calling a vote even once a month though is guaranteed to piss off the voters (Democratic rights?  God dammit I'll miss the final!), but referendums on all important issues would be cool.

I've been trying for years to get people my age to vote. The 18-to-25s are so damned lazy that leaving the house to vote is an alien thought.

Then there's the argument "my vote doesn't count"... something that the Florida debauchery only served to heighten, because they kept talking about how even if Bush lost the popular vote, the electorate could still put him in.

We have a really backwards voting system. The electoral college should have been abolished years ago. Standing on tradition can often times get in the way of progress... this is one of those times.

But whether or not there's an electoral college, their decision is still based on their state's popular vote. So guys, get out there and vote. Vote against the Rediculans so we can get this destructive regime out of the country.

But hell, even if you vote for the bad guys, just farking vote
Go the fuck ~

yeah... that's how i see myself too. i wake up every morning (well, when i get off my ass and go to bed) and by back hurts, i think i'm fat and nobody agrees with me. I have to suffer, staring around at all the zombie-like (no pun on anyone's name here) teenagers who have no clue to the real world and suffer their wrath as they dont seem to enjoy rational thought. oh well.

as far as how it is... being a representative government, i agree that this is how it is. but not how it should be. If a law would seriously affect nearly every american i dont think some joe should just sit there and say, "how about we do this? what do you think?" and someone else say "i dont care, doesn't affect me" and then it's a law.

and i think i put my age in my profile, i'll go check.

I think it iss slightly less then 50% of Americans vote in the national elections. it is slightly less then 30% for state elections. We were just talking about this in government so i am prett certain on those numbers.
you know its a bad day when you look more sober then usual
