how do you take a screen shot in redhat 7.3?

In The GIMP:
File >> Acquire >> Screen Shot

There are other programs that let you take sceenshots, but I don't know which ones RH includes, so I just used The GIMP.

Isn't Ksnapshot included in RH?
Works pretty well.

thanks much peoples. now i have to figure out where to upload it so ican post it.

In RedHat 8.0 you just press the PrintScreen button and it brings up a snapshot tool (similar to ksnapshot) with your snapshot ready to save to a file of your choice.
