Hi All,

I can't believe the piece of crap literature I just got from my good friends at Microsoft   :D

They're inviting *me* (at no cost) to their "Microsoft Technology Open Door Forum."  I would get breakfast and lunch and am entered in some sort of a raffle thing.  The topics are really great... things like "Business Productivity in the Digital Age," "Enterprise Project Management," ".NET Systems Strategy," "Reducing Costs through a Lean Infrastructure," and etc., ad nauseum.  I almost have half a mind to borrow my buddy's Red Hat laptop and show up   :D

I just hope that this color brochure they sent me cost them plenty.  Hell, they even mailed it 1st class!  What a bunch of idiots.  And this wasn't directed to "occupant" or "administrator" or whatever, it has my correct name and title on it.

I bet the IT director here gave them my name as a joke... I keep telling him that I need a Linux box in my office and he's a pure Windroid.  Actually, he's a decent guy in all other respects, but a Windroid none the less.

Sorry for the stupid post, but I thought it was pretty funny.

Jim

I'd go and piss off all those moronic Microsoft ass-kissers

xyle_one:
yeah, put together a brochure about the pros of using linux over windows (since there are no cons of course) and about how dotnet threatens the web by proprietarising it. it would be fun...  :D

KernelPanic:
They probably bought your name and address and occupation from some other unscrupulous company.

Turn up and ask loads of questions, about things Linux can do but they can't. And you should turn up in a red fedora, with a Penguin on you in higly visible areas (like your T-shirt). Ask them why their TCO is lower only in reports sponsored by them.

Ask them how to completely keep a user out of the system files and still allow the comp to function properly, why there are never reports of Linux getting Virii when Windows gets clouted on a regular basis, etc..
