user activity logs / erasing index.dat file

I've tried several internet cleaning utilities that erase all tracks of internet usage including the index.dat file.  However, are my tracks really cleaned?  What about user activity logs.  I surf the internet at work and we're on a network.  Can't the administrators simply get a history of my internet usage by activity logs from the server?  Obviously I know nothing about all this.  Any help?

Of course they can tell where you've been surfing. They surely have a firewall which can log all to/from traffic. It's even easier for them if they run a proxy server (which can be run transparently). If you are on the corporate network, the corporation can inspect every network packet entering or leaving your computer.

And as soon as Paladium is released, and tightly integrated wit .NET, Microsoft, Intel, and the government will also have this ability. Resistance is futile. Better to just be a good boy, at least while at work if you value your job.

Void main's got it, they can, will and do track your internet usage. And as long as it's in a company document somewhere, it is entirely legal. So it's tough shit for you really
