Yes, Thats right. AT&T Broadband blows.
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

I have had negative dealings with them in the past. It takes the threat of a lawyer to get anything done anytime there is a problem because their customer service people are dont care. (I suppose I would not care either if I worked for them, but for 80 bucks a month I expect results.) Which is very often because there hardware and service blows.

Very true. I have the same service. I did several calls to them about my downtime, which up to week ago was HUUUGE!  We are talking about 5 days down, two days up.

It took a very vulgar, nasty, less than civilized, over the top bad manered, phone call from my part to get their ass moving.
And we are talking about NASTY!

Baz: I know but... But your mom is fat.
ATT: JUST a SECOND SIR!!"

lol. No.

In few words, it involved telling the guy that the tech service that came home were "fucking morons", that their excuses are "fucking bullshit", and "am not paying didly shit for this month" because my modem was down most of the time.

Well, AT&T has yet to install cable internet here but
from everything you say it sucks. AT&T and Microsoft are the same kind of monopoly err... I mean company.
If AT&T were not the only cable company here (The local cable company "Hood Canal" does not yet offer service in my area.) and people could get sattelite AT&T would shape up. They need a little healthy competition. I would get Dish Network hooked up again in a second but trees block the signal. Im ready to risk my neck to climb up a tree and get sattelite instead of dealing with AT&T.

I've got cox internet service, although I am pretty happy with it, only like 3 days of down time in the last year.  But there support people are retards, last time my service went down I called and this is pretty much how it went.

Cox Support: Hello sir, how can we help you today?
Me: Well my internet service is down.
Cox Support: Well lets see if we can fix that.  Right click on my computer and choose properties.
Me: Well im on a mac with os 10.
Cox Support: Like I said sir, right click on my computer.
Me: click.

I swear this guy kept telling me to "right click on my computer".  I kept telling him I was on a mac but I guess he had never heard of anything other than windows.  It was quite funny, and my service was back on within a few hours.

The same thing happened with me. When tech support came, my PC was on RedHat. He took a look at it and the fallowing took place.

him-"What is this?"
me-RedHat Linux

him-bows his head and sighs
me-silence

him- I dont know how to work this.
me - so you wont do any work now?

him - No sorry. I dont know Linux.
me - its ok tell me what you need to do and i will do it.

him - No we  need to do this with Windos.
me - Allright. Give me your name so next time i call for support i will ask them not to send you.

later that day, i did the obsene phone call to ATTT.
They gave me for 6 months a discount. Now I pay 29 dollars instead of 49 something  :D

Yea its funny, tech support at cox are complete morons, one time I couldn't get my service to work under mandrake so I called them up.  That was a joke, first they told me they couldn't give me any support what so ever, then the guy proceeded to tell me that "linux does funny things" and that I probably wouldn't be able to set it up without some sort of a professional.  Well I had it set up within an hour, and im FAR from a "professional".
