death to x86

/* Ranting!! */

With all of the (future) developments working on the x86 and soon to be x86-64 architectures I will NOT be surprised if it dies for one reason or another. This could be because of their (Intel and AMD's) attempts to continuously hack extras onto this two decade old architecture.

The windows platform could also lead to the death of the x86 because users of this platform and of windows who upgrade will be denied basic computer freedoms such as being able to code your own apps and copy documents from source a to b.

/* Ok thats enough ranting for this minute */

Some feedback would be great!

btw. quick note
It's probably just my overly paranoid delusions but am I welcome here on the MES forums? just being my usual paranoid self   :D

huh... why woulden't you be welcome?

Any way to make software that can take X86 commands from a program, then convert them into equiavlents for a new architecture? What about making a new architecture that has a high degree of X86 compatibility, without a degrade in superiority over X86?

Ya ya if you want to 0ld$k00l 10 years from now as a hobby, get an old X86 etc. Can it be done or not?  ;)

I admit, if there was new thinking in game design in a linux future(less corp more gamer), and Wind0ze was dead, I would wholeheartedly support a new revolutionary chip.

voidmain:
It's already been done. HP has built these chips that are part RISC and part x86 and can run code from either. You probably can't afford them though, they are used on high end systems.

Maybe they still haven't done it but are still working toward it:

Damn they're slow. I went to a presentation on the subject in the HP offices a couple of years ago (had to sign a non-disclosure agreement because they were still in the development stages).
