Oh man! I want to register so baaaaad! on that stupid windowsbbs.com thing. Every time I check it out, I want to respond to those dumbasses, but I know I will get banned.

Too many stupid questions! Too little time! Has anyone registered on that site?

well i did the same. posted once, politely, mentioned linux, five minutes later, IP ban, not even allowed to view the board, no email explaining it, nothing.

I have since signed up again, and the first thing i did was search their board and guess what? shitloads of people have mentioned linux! also, i posted a new topic there with a link to that bogus "Microsoft buys red hat" article, and one of the replies was a bit anti-Microsoft, i wonder if that guy got banned? because they didn't delete the post.

Maybe they are mellowing out. who knows.

They certainly live up to their name, the WIndows BS.

I am registered there. Never went back after the "expert" couldn't answer a simple question. All i wanted to know was did XP have the AMD AGP bug patch in it already or would i have to install the  Windows 2k version. Instead i get some blather about update your drivers and i wanted to scream. Nothing is worse than an "expert" giving advice on something that the person clearly knows zero about. So i never went back. Good thing the AGP thing can be solved so easily in Linux. :D

absofuckinglutely!

i find it hard to follow many of the threads at the windows BS, although many of the people posting in those threads carry on as if they know exactly what each other are talking about...

has anyone ever been banned from here?  particularly:  has anyone been baned for being a windows drone?

the banning tells us one very important thing:  they are scared

they have accomplished one thing:  it is not an anti-windows forum.  most ms sites are flooded with posts from the next step in evolution... LINUX USERS!

those missing links can have thier insecure server and insecure mods.  i say fuck them...

i have an idea.  lets all go into a thread where someone is asking a halfway-technical question and post "freemypc.com has some answers for you"

firstly, the Windows BS is NOT hosted on a Microsoft server. they use Apache/1.3.19 (Unix) mod_gzip/1.3.19.1a mod_perl/1.24_01 mod_throttle/2.11 FrontPage/4.0.4.3 mod_ssl/2.8.3 OpenSSL/0.9.6b on Linux.

Secondly, i can confirm that nobody has EVER been banned from using the forums at fuckmicrosoft.com board.

there was one instance when somebody set up multiple accounts masquerading badly as other posters on the board just to clog up the forums with drek. The webmaster deleted their account and set up a situation where you could only have one account per email address, here's the pertinent page here, but that's the only time it has happened, and the secretive cunt wasn't really banned, as far as i know he can sign up again if he wants (and i suspect, he has).

Why are you guys always sending people to that goddamn place with their wind0ze questions? Ok well I guess you have your reasons, but there has got to be a place where the admins are fair.

i didn't think that we had banned anyone

"secretive cunt" ...i have seen that on here several times

this makes me happy

i am not made angry by the big brother activities of the windows bbs -- i merely sit and laugh from high atop the mountain

i think it is funny when people ask "how do i change the start button?" or "anyone got a crack for dreamweaver?"

when people get laughed off of this forum, they deserve it

but they are free to post again...

they simply fear our intellectual and moral might

on windows bbs:  fuck them all.  let them drown in thier bucket of crabs.  we are evolved.  we are enlightened.  we rage against them, but the inportant thing to remember here is that the majority is apathetic, linux friendlies come in second, and those who prefer to bang thier heads against the redmond mason wall are free to do so -- mere cannon fodder in the os war that was over before it began

find time to laugh, particularly when intoxicated-- you will realize the unimportance of absolutely nothing

get my damned drift already

i'm registered there. i asked why the hell my mouse goes completely fucked every once in a while and nobody knew... i mentioned how Linux never did this to me and i got a PM from that moderator guy Steve Jones or whatever telling me to watch it. no profanity or anything.

my problem is that the mouse just goes completely fucked every once in a while, it will just go nuts on scrolling and click stuff uncontrollably opening everything, saving this here, deleting this and shit like that. it's like a virus or something but i don't know wtf is causing it.

I wanna go over there and pose as a complete newb.

Go all into how my windows is different, and how I've only got 64 bits, and need to upgrade my gigabyte, then mention that I couldn't make XP install on my iMac.

or... say that I'm an old time UNIX junkie and want to transition to winbloze... tha could be fun
