Real virouses and computer ones are two different things. For one something like SARS is very political in nature. SARS after all is the flu. It really isn't that threatening, but with the bush regime, it looked like the end of the worl. Then again when we talk about the bush regime. Then we do talk about things that can harm the world indefinatly.
I agree that alot of sensitive information is passed through computers these days, thats why it is nessessary to have good tools for the job.
Scarifcing safty over economy is the soul reason why the twin towers came down, likewise M$ poor products is the same reason a nucler plant faild. M$ Is responsible for those things. Not the virous writers. If someone is running such mission critical jobs then they should have gone with OpenBSD not someting that is garantee to fail.
