the latest floater in the bowl of turds is chevelle.  they have that local venue grungy feel, and i reccommend them

i just like good music, but if you try to go for the mtv airtime you can suck my dick

for example:  sugar ray.  i saw them at a tiny venue.  they were zangy hardcore.  thier first cd was too.  then, the POWERS THAT BE made them change thier sound.  now they are pussies and thier lame ass music blows.

i will start now:

BESTS:
tool -- owns you
nirvana -- is disgusted by you
led zep -- loves you
nine inch nails -- hates you

GREATS:
primus
slayer
misfits
vogner
american head charge
ccr
folk implosion
bach
portishead
aerosmith
acdc
reo speedwagon
system of a down -- close to the top btw

many many more  i would hate to miss anyone

if you have talent and good music you can make my list

if you want to discover a great band before they get big, scope out the local bands.  there are two of four bands right here in my hometown that i love

really... keep an eye on chevelle, american head charge, and your local bands.

i kinda like one linkin park song, some slipknot, and a looooooong list of random shit through time.  i have had over a thousand mp3s.  i have nearly 400 now.

if it works for you, here is a website for my friends' band: http://www.sporkme.net/marionette/

they will draw 100 people at times, and we did one gig for over 500.

blah, blah, blah    people who like gangsta rap need to die
just that you do not take an interest in politics does not mean that politics will not take an interest in you.  -pericles 430 b.c.

ya primus kicks ass too.
Has anyone heard Primus and Ozzy's cover for NIB by Black sabbath?? It is some sweet ass shit, except for bassically (the bass solo) they could've done it a bit better.
The Ramones are cool too.

No one seems to have mentioned the instrumentless band Depeche Mode that pioneered the Electornica style.

Erm...yeah. Sorry they were/are crap and the only thing they pioneered was pop bands jumping on the electronic music bandwagon (and U2 can fuck off too, along with Cher and any other rock or pop artist who thinks they can be good by changing their style more electronic. There are already good groups who can mix and match, without their influence thank-you).

No I don't rate Depeche Mode, I can't remember anything they ever did that was good. And for some reason I always think of them in the Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran group of 80's dullards.

Bring on The Stone Roses, now there was a good group.

Eminem has major issues. He  suffers from the "small mans syndrome".

There are dudes out there that talk the talk and walk the walk. Eminem doesnt have shit on DMX for example.

Eminem is pissed at the world with no good reason. He bashes his family like a 13 year old kid as if he was the only one that had a shity childhood.

Lets see how he would act on a street fight.

Yup. As long as it's not all-chemical (wich means simply made on the computer and sung/rapped into) [A LOT OF 'ARTISTS' FALL OFF ! spears, milian, aguilera, jackson, jackson, furtado, etc c] and not dumb, (in the form of that the ones who deserve credit don'get it, usually the band that stands behind the 'artist') [lavigne, jones, et c] i can hear almost everything.
I do not think limp bizkit sucks as bad as i heard some people say, but i do think they've really turned too commercial. Songs like 'my way' aren't really good compared to stuff like nookie and i'm broke.
I think real artist should be _artists_, and not entertainers like most people now. Just take an example of Calum ! He does everything himself, writes, plays the guitar in a very styled way and makes some dance-music too !

Like I said: credits for the ones who deserve it.

No real commerical rapper can walk the walk. It's almost completly talk. Perhaps rappers have a little more crime charges then the standard recording artist, but the key is "a little more". This should not be used to prove that they are even remotely like they portray themselves in their songs.
