i dont have a folder called MSN50.
MSN sends microsoft information on you whenever you go to a microsoft (eg. hotmail) website.
Thats how it finds out if you got new e-mails.

But someone could easily install 1 registry key that would allow any website to get your information.

Umm.  Now as much as I hate Microshite WKD...  I kinda find it hard to believe that they hacked into your computer like you claim they did.  I know that just about every bloody program they have that is capable of using the internet sends some form of info or another across about you but for them to do something like that outright is unlikely.  At least the way you say it happened is unlikely.

And what Reg key is that Drauga that would allow this?  I haven't heard of this happening yet.  However if it's possible I'm sure someone would have done it by now.

that MSN exploit has been mentioned in one or more posts here, one including a link to a register article which contained an example of the exploit.

aww who gives a shit?
Microsoft can only write programs that fuck up windows and screw over windows users, who cares. i use windows ocassionally, but none of the stuff i still use it for involves going on the internet, i'm happy to say (unless it's in an internet shop situation  :(  )
M$ have never (and won't ever) release any UNIX spyware, so who could care less? the herd will keep getting spied on, and they won't even care, and everybody else can just get on with it as per normal! Microsoft won't be doing this shit for much longer anyway, you can see the cracks already...
