My New Site
« on: 1 August 2003, 08:49 »
After discovering PHP Nuke I had to find a reason to have it on my site.  Well I found one.  I have a site that (hopefully) will discuss the pros and cons of all of Macs and Apple's moves and new products.  I "hope" it will end up a fair site if people even bother to go to it at all.

So spread the word OK

Right on. I played with PHPNuke for a bit for my artformsdesign site. I am now using xoops, which for me is the best one yet. I will have to sign up to your site

I tried xoops.  I really liked the admin panel... I wish it was the way the main menu worked... with the floating popup menus, it was cool.

In PHP Nuke some things don't seem to be working, and I'm getting lots of PHP can't change the header warnings.  I may try Post Nuke and Xoop again.  The final decision will be with the one that is easiest to skin.  Which basically means the one that has a skin that I like somewhere on the internet and then change the pictures.

oh shoot.  I just realised.... E-Mail isn't working.  I can't find anything in the Admin for email.  Is this in the PHP.ini .  If so is it possible to specify the info in a .htaccess file?

more bad news.  I have to shut the server down for about 30 minutes around 12:00 PST.  Please bear with me.  If enough people come to this site that I can get ads and make money to buy a real domain and a hosting service this will not happen.  Or if you wish to donate the money, that would be great.  So spread the word about my site and hopefully, it will get a real server and domain name.

Have you though about validating it? XHTML.1.0 would be sweet.

major update

I took u Sime's web space offer.  Now my site is at http://macmod.homelinux.com .   I decided to switch to Xoop.  It is so much more refined.  PHP Nuke is the windows of PHP Web Site Managers, and XOOPS is definitely the Mac of Web Site Managers.

I just want to thank Sime again for the space and the help.
