I like that.

Also, even though it would require getting the rights via the Rich Imbeciles and Assholes of America, do a TV spot with a hard rock, almost punk version of "Blowing In The Wind".

Show windows crashing, and then show Linux, Mac OS, et cetera. and it running perfectly. show screenshots of windoze product activation, and cops showing up at someone's house while they're installing xp.

How many times must the system go down (show crashes and BSODS)
Before you can call it a flop? (show people looking shocked and disgusted)

How many viruses must your box have (show magazine and newspaper articles about viruses)
Before you can call it sick? (show norton AV running)

And how many years must the four-color-flag fly (show Windows logo)
Before we can all move ahead? (show an XP CD being shot and exploding)

The answer my friend (show quick screenshots of LInux, intermixed with LInus and Tux)
Is blowing in the wind (Mac OS X and the Apple logo)
The answer is blowing in the wind. (Organization name, logo, and slogan in white on a black b/g)
Go the fuck ~

BCBE sounds good. Our logo would have to be simple, something that a lot of people would recognize, like McDonalds' golden arches or Nike's check mark. I don't have any ideas, but I'm thinking.

A simple logo should do it and the idea of an "open door" or something similar sounds good. Simple logos are also a lot catchier. Well, what are we waiting for?

I like OpenOpen. Refers to the product - OSS.  Cool.

BCBE is a problem as www.bcbe.com is not legible.  And if you say it nobody will understand what you say.

A commando Tux is a good use of Tux.

Open door logo - ++good and appropriate for OpenOpen.

PS.  Michael Moore, Stupid Whire Men (Thanks Calum) - he talks about students getting elected to the school board or something like that.

Is information for students/campus a way to go?  Point out money to MS is money away from THEM.

Please read Stupid White Men and this might make more sense
Open Source Software - What is the compelling reason to use anything else?

A few ideas

I just did them quickly in Photoshop, so if we decide on one of them someone can make them look better.

i've gone off the idea of BCBE to be honest, i think it sounds like more of a slogan than a name. OpenOpen is good though. but i really think our logo and name should be quite traditional sounding and normal looking. how about OpenOpen Software Information Service (OpenOpen or OOSIS for short!    )

not too sure about a commando tux. maybe that would be a good logo if we decide to target students instead of organisations, but the original idea was to write to local government and schools/colleges, yes? also, what do people think about getting in touch with the people from GNUWinII, the FSF and The Open CD?

Of course we need to get ourselves settled into the idea of being a 'thing' first and decide what we're doing, but i think maybe we could initiate some communication with them in the interests of our cause.

okay boys and girls, any further OpenOpen related stuff can go in http://openopen.cjb.net/ so it doesn't get buried here in the lounge, deal?

I like OpenOpen with the bottom-left logo (or the one with the logo & Tux):
EDIT: Didn't know it was one big image!

By the way, I am fully geared up for CD sales and production, as part of my website that kinda got left out. If we are gonna be distributing CDs like the OpenCD or Knoppix...it's all here.
