We have to stop meeting like this. Seriously.
Actually, we couldn't find the page you requested. Please check the URL.

The best quote about AOL that i saw was "AOL is the training wheels of the internet, once you learn something about computers, you get a real ISP" I remember when my family first got a computer and my parents got AOL. Most of the time online was spent downloading AOL "art". Needless to say after the first phone bill, they switched to another ISP.

I HATE AOL! AOL IS A LOUSY PILE OF WORTHLESS SHIT ISP!!! (heavy breathing...)

My first ISP was AOL. Wow, i am suprised that i did not ever have a stroke while using it.  It has been quite a while since i had AOL and dial-up internet, but the AOL commercials on TV still raise my blood pressure every once in a while.

But I haven't met any babes like the ones in the picture at the beginning of this thread using cable.  I think I want to sign up for AOL.

I had never used AOL. I just went to see my dad in UK and he swears by AOL. I have to say it is the slowest, most annoying ISP I have every used.

Oh and for the record AOL claim to be developing a Linux version of their service. I got this when I had to phone up technical support to get my dad back on line because it automatically sent out spam when my dad opened a piece of spam mail. I asked them can I connect to your servers through Linux please, and they said not yet but we are currently working on it.

they are total con artists. and they have bought my favourite US record company, comic publishers and movie studios, oh yes, and winamp, just to piss me off!

why anybody that is not an american would ever use a service called 'america online' is beyond me...

Well, the naming thing was probably a little near sighted. When they first started I think they had hopes of creating access points for everyone in America.  I don't know if they seriously thought they would ever be successful in that goal let alone reaching beyond America.  It would be appropriate to change their name since they have reached that status but rebranding at this stage of the game would be seriously expensive and could ultimately be their demise since everyone knows them as AOL.

Anyway, it's a lot of fun to fill in the letters of the acronym with more meaningful words: "America Off Line", "Always Off Line", "America's Online Losers", "AOhelL" etc...
