Ahh, yes, Dr. Laura. Yes, she really
is a doctor, however, her PhD is in physiology, not psychology. She's no more qualified to be giving advise than anyone else.
Also, it would seem that the good doctor has been having a quite a bit of trouble with her moral compass:
quote:
The photos -- taken by Schlessinger's mentor, California radio personality Bill Ballance -- displayed a sportive, 20-something Dr. Laura in various stages of undress, including one classic open-legged money shot [...] For, it turns out, the young woman wearing a smile and little else in the 20-year-old pictures is indeed the current radio queen of family values.
Dr. Laura, how could you?
quote:
In a little-noticed pronouncement, Schlessinger -- who very publicly converted to Judaism five years ago -- opened her radio show, "The Dr. Laura Schlessinger Program," with the revelation that she will no longer practice Judaism. Although Schlessinger says she still "considers" herself Jewish, "My identifying with this entity and my fulfilling the rituals, etcetera, of the entity -- that has ended." [...] Schlessinger even hinted at a possible turn to Christianity -- a move that, radio insiders say, would elevate her career far beyond the 300 stations that currently syndicate her show.
Dr. Laura Renounces Orthodoxy
Why, oh why, does that bring to mind this particular quote: "The Christian god can easily be pictured as virtually the same god as the many ancient gods of past civilizations. The Christian god is a three headed monster; cruel, vengeful and capricious. If one wishes to know more of this raging, three headed beast-like god, one only needs to look at the caliber of people who say they serve him. They are always of two classes: fools and hypocrites."
