Thanks Calum

The desktop with the UT screen is Gnome under RedHat7.3 Calum.
I have KDE 3.0.1 as well as you can see from the pic (with the Twin Towers) but I mainly use Gnome. I switch to KDE when i get bored with Gnome.

The taskbars are not realy transperant. I did a trick. I put the earth wallpaper and then i right clicked on the taskbar->all proeprties.

Background tab
Backround type : Pixmap.   Then i selected the same pic as in the desktop and I clicked "DONT scale image to fit.

And vuala there you have it. It looks like the taskbars ar transperant  :D
I am thinking of upgrading to Gnome 2.
Yeah

A higher resolution now, a terminal and a different background. Shoulda put up the process viewer w/ IE...it was using over 150 MB RAM      :D
And transparent terminals do rule!

I bow down. A Mac with a mere 233mhz processor that can run the new MacOS 10.2. Try telling a windows owner with a 233 mhz to try XP.....lol

nobody's posted a screenshot here for a while so...

and before a certain party complains about how fuzzy it is, it's because i reduced it to 3/4 size and squished up the jpeg compression to make it weigh less on my server space. thank you.

it's iceWM running mozilla 1.1 and amsn, by the way, with the xp theme for icewm and the ieskin theme for mozilla. this is the new 'guest' account i created on my computer, so we can let people use it in the flat and not worry about them getting to our files.
My aim is to make this guest account as much like windows xp as possible. It's my belief that my flatmates haven't even noticed the difference yet! if anybody knows anymore ways to customise icewm or get linux to look like windows, then do PM me, it's a little hobby project of mine now!

Good excuse, but it's still offensive to my retina.
